Tulsa Calibration : Great Company

Travis: Hello everybody. This is Travis again …

Nate: And Nate.

Travis: … with Precision Calibrations. We are starting podcast number two.  Tulsa Calibration  We’re going to entertain you today with a … talk a little bit about the old thread gauge, and the thread gauge wires, and the super micrometer, you know. Don’t forget about the micrometer calibrations in Tulsa, Oklahoma. But right now, we’re going to talk about the thread wires. So, Nate, what do you have to add about thread wires … calibrations in Tulsa, Oklahoma?

Nate: Well I’ll tell you what, we’ve got a really good source right here of a Mitutoyo book that talks a lot about this. So threaded gauges are something that is real important to manufacturing and what they do there, and putting parts together, and these threaded plug gauges that we’re talking about are really simply just checking the pitch of a female threaded socket, I guess, if you will. But these things are real important, so whenever they’re building an aircraft and spaceships and whatever with all the fasteners that they’ve got to screw in, then these things need to be calibrated. This is something we can do in our lab … threaded gauges … threaded plug gauges, come in all different sizes, but they all have got to be calibrated, so they’re getting calibrated, the plug gauges are.

Travis: So Nate, whenever we’re talking about threaded plug gauges in Tulsa, Oklahoma, what instruments are you using whenever you are checking a gauge that would be calibrated cause it has threads?

Nate: So the threaded plug gauges being calibrated,  Tulsa Calibration  they use a three wire system on that so they use three wires and usually a super micrometer. The old …

Travis: When you are doing your threaded plug gauge calibrations, what are you using? Are you using a super micrometer?

Nate: So yeah in our lab at Precision Calibrations Lab we’ve got a super micrometer that we use in there … Pratt & Whitney. And then we have this three wire thread system that we use with the super micrometer to do the threaded plug gauges.

Travis: What kind of a person do you find has a lot of thread gauges? Do you find these mostly in … Do you have a lot of aerospace customers that need threaded plug gauge calibrations? Do you have a lot of oil companies that need …

Nate: Yeah.

Travis: … a thread plug gauge calibrations in Tulsa, Oklahoma? You know, do you have bakeries that need thread gauge plug calibrations in Tulsa, Oklahoma? I mean is there a standard or do you just find that there’s just a lot of use and a lot of need to calibrate threaded plug gauges?

Nate: Yeah, threaded plug gauges in Tulsa up at the calibration lab, in Calibrations … that’s what we do. We can calibrate threaded plug gauges and so these companies that need to check thread on bolts and holes, that’s what they’ve got to do. We calibrate threaded plug gauges. So let’s see … what else about threaded plug gauges.

Threaded plug gauges are, you know, just manufacturing testing pieces.

Travis: So whenever you are going to do a threaded plug gauge calibration, do you have to take the environments into consideration?

Nate: So temperature is important.

Travis: I know we talked about taking the environments into consideration when we were doing micrometer calibrations in Tulsa, Oklahoma but what about … Does all calibrations environment effect it or does it effect it very much when you are doing threaded plug gauge calibrations?

Nate: Yeah. The Tulsa calibration lab that we have is controlled … the temperature environmentals are controlled to maintain sixty eight degrees plus or minus three degrees and we have to keep the lab at a certain temperature because of expansion and contraction of metals. So we use the three wire system on these calibrations and the threaded plug gauge is basically used with the super micrometer to measure it, to make sure that it’s accurate to within a thousandth inch. I don’t know.

Travis: So if you were going to do a threaded plug gauge calibration in Tulsa, Oklahoma … I know you’ve said using the three wire system … Can you elaborate just a little bit more on what that process is when you are calibrating a threaded plug gauge calibration in Tulsa, Oklahoma?

I mean cause I picture in my mind, you know, I’ve got three wires and I’m just going to stick them in the socket, you know, one on the left side, one on the right side, and one in the middle. You know, what are you using those three wires for?

Nate: Yeah so the three wires and the three wire Tulsa Calibration  of a threaded plug gauge, you know, they have a certain diameter that when you know the diameter and they are set into the groove, you put two wires on one side of the groove or one side of the threads and one wire on the other side of the threads. By doing that and by measuring to those ends you can determine and calculate exactly what the pitch is, where the pitch line is. You can inspect the threads to make sure that they are within tolerance.

Travis: What’s something whenever you’re doing a threaded plug gauge calibration that you would look for specifically for damage? You know, not necessarily … maybe it checks out good, you know, with those three wires but what else would you look at that you would have to fail a plug gauge for and let a customer know that it’s damaged?

Nate: Well …

Travis: Do you always see a damaged thread? And if there is a damaged thread would it most likely show up on the three wire system or is it possible that if it’s a really long threaded gauge, you know, with the three wires you’re not covering every surface. Right? So is it possible that if you had a damaged thread but, you know, everywhere else was good … would that be a good thread plug gauge or what that be a failed threaded plug gauge calibration in Tulsa, Oklahoma?

Nate: Yeah, so I think you answered the question very well Travis that when you’re inspected the threaded plug gauge you want to make sure that the grooves are nice and clean, there is no obstruction, make sure just by … pretty easy to do a visual inspection to see if there’s obvious damage to it.

And so beyond that … the common practice is to have a plastic brush with plastic bristles to clean it with some type of WD-40 or as they know it as fish oil. Yeah so that’s the method is just to clean the threads with a plastic piece, like WD-40, and that really does work the best. Clean it up and measure it, check for damages, and keep on moving along.

Is this … what … twenty?

Travis: Yeah but I’m not sure what time we started our podcast for threaded plug gauges calibration so podcast …

Nate: Yeah so how much time do we have left on here then Tulsa Calibration ?

Travis: … number two is going to be about three or four minutes longer so I think we’re going to go for about five minutes longer on this one and from now on we’ll make sure to mark the time.

Nate: Yeah, yeah.

Travis: But, there is never enough time to talk about thread plug gauge calibrations in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Nate: Yeah.

Travis: I go to work and I just say, “Man, I wish I could do a threaded plug gauge calibration today.” And then just as soon as I stop thinking about it I get home and I open a beer or a soda, depending on what day of the week it is and if the children are home, and I say, “Man, I wish that super micrometer was here at the house so I could do some more threaded plug gauge calibrations in Tulsa, Oklahoma.”

Nate: Yeah.

Travis: Do you find yourself in the tub, Nate, just thinking, “Man, I sure do enjoy doing those threaded plug gauge calibrations here in Tulsa, Oklahoma?”

Nate: Well, you know, I have had mental pictures before, yeah. As a matter of fact Travis while I’m at home when I should be relaxing and turning off the brain, the thoughts of the threaded plug gauges come back and, you know, just become so real to me that it just comes alive. It is hard to contain myself. You know, people around me can tell that I’m troubled because of all these thoughts I have about the threaded plug gauges.

Travis: Troubled with love about threaded plug gauge …

Nate: That’s right.

Travis: … calibrations in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Nate: That’s right.

Travis: That’s because you care about every single one of your customers just as much as … the smallest one to the largest one.

Nate: That’s true.

Travis: And if you send your plug gauges or your … What else can we do with the three wire system, man, we can do plug gauges … we can do …

Nate: I don’t know.

Travis: … ring gauges … certain kind.

Nate: You know there might be an eye obstruction or something so it may not be good for your kids to play with but … hearths. Yeah, I don’t know.

Travis: Is there any way to keep an eye on how much the crayons that my kids are using with the three wire system?

Nate: I don’t know how we could do it. Maybe that would be something we should take a look at. Maybe we need to have a podcast just for that. We’ll bring some crayons in and play with the three wire calibration system that we offer.

Travis: You know, I think if we offered with our threaded plug gauge Tulsa Calibration , Oklahoma services, a crayon checking calibration service, I think there is a big market for that. I think that everybody who needs a threaded plug gauge calibration in Tulsa, Oklahoma also has kids that color too much. They just can’t keep them from coloring so they’ve got to keep track of their crayons as well.

Nate: Yeah.

Travis: That sounds very reasonable and logical to me.

Nate: It would be a good way to catch somebody stealing crayons, that is true.

Travis: All right so we haven’t used the three wire system for checking crayons yet but we have used it for threaded plug gauges in Tulsa. Do you find that a three wire check on a threaded plug gauge calibration is a very reliable check that you can feel good about and let your customer know that their part is good or bad?

Nate: Yeah, doing the check with the threaded plug gauge…yeah. Well I was just reading a part but I guess you … what did they say? You have to be careful not to use too much of that.

Travis: They said there is no plagiarizing, we are not plagiarizing. We’re looking at a little puppy across the room right now and he had this little jacket and it’s flashing. It’s got some kind of odd words on it. As a matter of fact, I think it says, “Threaded plug gauge calibrations offered in Tulsa, Oklahoma from Precision Calibrations from your neighborhood friendly calibrators. I’m Travis.”

Nate: I’m not going to admit who I am. I don’t want it publicized.

Travis: Thanks for joining us on podcast number two and we’ll see you in a little while on podcast number three. Nate, what topic are you going to transition from threaded plug gauge calibrations in Tulsa, Oklahoma to?

Nate: Well, let’s see. Tulsa Calibration   What else do we do that we want to promote in the shop there?

Travis: I love all, you know … I just think about our accreditation, you know? I think about how much I love being able to give accredited certificates and so I’ll enjoy talking about anything that has to do with link, anything that has to do with … Let me be more specific.

Nate: Maybe we …

Travis: Link calibrations.

Nate: Maybe we …

Travis: Anything that has to do with pressure calibrations in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Anything that has to do with micrometer calibrations in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Definitely anything that has to do with threaded plug gauge calibrations in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Nate: I think you know a few things about this … hardness test.

Travis: Hardness test.

Nate: Maybe we can look at that Tulsa Calibration .

Travis: All right. We are going to go to hardness tester calibrations in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Well it’s been great talking about threaded plug gauge calibrations in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We’ll see you next time.

Recording Crew: That’s awesome. Oh that’s so crazy though.

Recording Crew: Oh it’s gibberish.

Recording Crew: I can’t imaging how bad it’s going to be though and I don’t want to think about it. I just hope it can be … I hope there is some discretion.

Recording Crew: What do you mean Tulsa Calibration ?

Recording Crew: On their part when they’re typing it up.

Recording Crew: Oh.

Recording Crew: Cause, yeah, it is going to be crazy.  But it doesn’t matter. So again … here, go ahead.

Recording Crew: No, no, no I’m listening to you completely.

Recording Crew: So again it’s not always just about using key words. It’s content, it’s the amount of information, right?

Recording Crew: No, it’s really the …. Well, yes. But, the more times that you have the keywords in there, the more times that it populates. So it’s a two fold.

Recording Crew: Yeah they said six times is what you want … is what they said.

Recording Crew: I don’t know. I saw man buns like fifty times.

Recording Crew: Yeah.

Recording Crew: No when he did a search for it … that’s right, now that I think about it. There’s like three or four …

Recording Crew: But anyway, that’s not …

Recording Crew: So we need a thousand words of anything. That’s irregardless.

Recording Crew: Anything.

Recording Crew: To make it … That’ just to make …

Recording Crew: The website.

Recording Crew: That’s the amount of characters that Google’s looking to meet their compliance, right?

Recording Crew: Oh okay.  Tulsa Calibration  To even look at us. To even look at us, maybe.

Recording Crew: Basically. Basically

Recording Crew: Basically.

Recording Crew: But now we are going one step further and we’re targeting specific work by specific words in that group of words. So that’s what’s going to eventually allow us to …

Recording Crew: Be seen.

Recording Crew: That’s recording.

Recording Crew: No I think it’s just the light mic.

Recording Crew: No cause the thing is moving. It shouldn’t be moving Tulsa Calibration .
